JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a responsible and caring Healthcare Assistant to provide basic care and daily support to residents under the guidance and supervision of registered nurses.

JOB SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging them to maintain their independence.
• Provide basic care and support according to residents’ needs and established procedures.
• Assist in preparing, arranging and serving meals to residents.
• Assist with serving pre-packed medication in accordance with the organisation’s medication policy and procedures.
• Monitor and support residents during daily routines and activities.
• Organise and conduct recreational and social activities for residents.
• Encourage residents to participate in suitable activities such as exercises, games, puzzles and group activities.
• Carry out simple weekly clinical tasks such as weighing residents and taking basic vital parameters.
• Observe residents and report any concerns or changes to the registered nurse or supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents.
• Perform routine housekeeping and assist with general cleaning when required.
• Assist with basic administrative duties and documentation when assigned.
• Check, maintain and monitor inventory and supplies when required.
• Follow workplace safety, hygiene and operational procedures at all times.
• Work closely with nurses and other team members to support the daily care needs of residents.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Caring, patient and responsible attitude.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working with elderly residents.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willing to assist with basic care, housekeeping and daily operational duties.
• Relevant healthcare, nursing or caregiving experience will be an advantage.
• Candidates with relevant healthcare qualifications or training are encouraged to apply.
